Fundraising
Fundraising is a crucial element in ensuring our charity survives. Our volunteers and supporters put their heart and soul in to every event they organise.
Oldham Athletic Football Club paid a visit to our centre.

Paul Shea talking to Tom Conlon Oldham Athletic Football Club Captain about the difference that OCSC has made to him and others who visit the centre. Tom selected our charity for Movember, where players grew moustaches in order to raise donations from fans through the month of November.
Summer's Walking Journey

When Summer was just four years old, she walked a mile every day for her Great Nanna Marje, who was undergoing treatment for leukaemia. Her goal was to raise as much money as possible for Oldham Cancer Support, who stood by Nanna Marje every step of the way throughout her treatment.
After her Nanna Marje sadly passed away, Summer’s Nanna also received support from Oldham Cancer Support through counselling sessions. Their care really is second to none, and we will always be grateful for the kindness and compassion they showed our family.
When Summer turned nine in March, she decided that in May she wanted to take on the challenge again and walk a mile every day to raise money for Oldham Cancer Support. This time, the weather certainly wasn’t on our side, but it never stopped Summer’s strength, determination, or enthusiasm. We walked through sunshine, rain, hail and strong winds!
Her walks took her to Dunwood Park, Crompton Moor and all around Shaw, our local town. Even when she went on holiday to Lytham, the family continued their daily walks. Sometimes, to fit a mile into a busy day, they would park half a mile away from where they were going, like Summer’s horse riding lessons. They would walk up the hill to the stables and then back again afterwards to make sure they completed the mile. Summer loved every minute of walking, and so did her mum, Dad, Arabella and Willow. It gave them precious time together to chat about everything and anything, put the world to rights, and make wonderful memories, all while raising money for such an incredible cause.
Thank you once again to Oldham Cancer Support. We will be forever thankful for everything you have done for our family.
Summer raised a total of £674.63 by completing all these walks in all weathers.
